Brickwood | Brunch

I've visited Brickwood a few times. But this time it was different their new branch in Tooting Market.
Tooting is definitely up and coming, over the past 5 years that I've lived in the sw18/Sw17/Sw18 postcode areas I've had Tooting on my doorstep and I've seen lots of lovely new additions.

Brickwood is nestled in the corner of Tooting Market. The perfect spot for Brunch and coffee with friends.

I've visited the Clapham branch a few times and always throughly enjoyed it. But it's always nice to visit a new branch and check it out, plus it's been a while since my previous visits. What am I wittering on about, who needs an excuse for Brunch?

We actually visited last year, in October - not long after Brickwood Tooting had opened.

What we had..

To eat I smashed avocado on toast, with poached eggs and a side of mushrooms. I had tea from Bluebird Tea Co. (yay)! This is one of the first times I've seen Bluebird tea being served out and about, I was very excited to see Brickwood serving it. Bluebird tea has a great flavour, and plenty of wonderful tea concoctions to explore. I really must visit their shop in Brighton.

Meanwhile The Boy went for as close to a Full English as he could get.. Plus a flat white. The coffee at Brickwood is great, the beans come from Caravan Coffee Roasters.

The food was very good. In my books you can't go wrong when there's smashed avocado involved. We arrived in good time, sometimes vital for hungry brunch hunters - often these places have queues. We got up quite early (it also helped that it was the morning after the clocks had changed, and we were definitely there before 10am). My brunch companion is always rather impatient. (We've discussed this before, haven't we? (It goes along the lines of.. if there's a queue it's good.. okay? He'll get it eventually.. )! I'd head out early if you want first choice of seats.

Well there we have it, the first Brunch Spot of 2016, although technically it was 2015. Oops. I'll just have to go back and rectify that won't I?
