Yesterday I went to my very first bloggers event, London Bloggers Tea (#LDNBloggersTea) organised by Selena (what a great job - thank you). I was a little nervous about arriving alone and walking into a room potentially full of strangers. However it's amazing how soon you can forget that and quickly your finding out you have an awful lot in common with the other bloggers. We were welcomed by Chef Ben, who later explained to us a little about the menu and what they offer at the menu.
Nerves aside and champagne in hand we all got chatting and eventually took our places, and 3 tables beautifully laid with pink and flowery cups and saucers. The Royal Horseguards Hotel did a lovely job, having a private room for an event like this works perfectly. And in true blogger fashion all the cameras and phones appeared whilst we all snapped away.
We each had a lovely menu rolled into a scroll with pink ribbons, which I love to have to refer back to. The waiting staff were lovely, and constantly topped up our teacups with either an Earl Grey or Pomegranate Herbal Blend.

The entire Afternoon Tea stand with plenty of sandwiches.
My selection of vegetarian sandwiches.

Lemon Meringue Cupcakes, and Pink Peppercorn & Strawberry Stripy Macaroons
From above: The beautiful top tier bursting with beautiful treats.

The desserts were wonderful - bursting with colour and flavour. I especially enjoyed the Banana Roulade and the Mango Curd Tart. However the 'After Eight Shot Glasses' almost stole the show with a lovely rich chocolate and pannacotta ensemble.
One of my personal favourite parts of Afternoon Tea: warm scones, clotted cream & raspberry preserve.

The Afternoon Tea on offer at The Royal Horseguards Hotel is just lovely. The staff accommodated a private party perfectly, from being greeted in the reception area by Chef Ben to having our coats taken and members of staff topping up our tea at just the right time. I always feel it's the little touches that all add up and make Afternoon Tea such an special experience.

I had a lovely afternoon meeting new people, and some faces that I recognised from the world of Twitter.
It's always very exciting walking away from an Afternoon Tea with a little goodie bag, so I've enjoyed (and shared a few more treats this evening).

You'll find The Royal Horseguards Hotel (a Guoman Hotel) situated at 2 Whitehall Court, London, Sw1A 2EJ. Just off of Whitehall and a short walk from Waterloo. A perfect place for that special treat of Afternoon Tea!

Thanks for reading x
