Lady Berry Cupcakes

Today I was lucky enough to take part in a Christmas Cupcake course, hosted by Lady Berry Cupcakes in Wandsworth. The Pent House Bakery, the home of Farley, is a very nice set up - the studio is homely and relaxing.

I've not done a lot of decorating of cakes before and I was slightly nervous about how I'd be able to make such lovely looking cakes, as I'm not the most creative person.

However don't let that put you off. You'll come out of the studio with 12 beautifully decorated cupcakes that you will be proud of. I was really impressed.

Farley is a lovely and teaches the class so well. Explaining how to do each step of the decorating in detail, so that you get lovely looking cakes.

Preparing the robin cupcake - getting to grips with the fondant icing & tools.

The course lasts for 3.5 hours and the time actually flies. There are 12 designs to complete, so you work your way through pretty quickly, however you don't feel at all rushed. Farley is more than happy to repeat the instructions and help out.
My final 12 cupcakes- aren't they cute?

You'll get time for a cupcake & a cup of tea for 'elevenses'.

Close up of the final 12.

Farley is a brilliant teacher - I felt quite confident in my work with the fondant icing by the end. I've definitely learnt how much work goes into decorating cupcakes.
