I blogged about Tried & True back in May 2013 when I raved about independent coffee shops and why I prefer them, you can read that post here. I often pop in for a coffee, but I don't usually have the chance to get anything else.
But this time I decided to try their Blueberry pancakes with grilled banana, mascarpone & maple syrup to be precise. Costing £7.50 (price correct at time of original publish).
I couldn't imagine how much grilled banana would melt in my mouth, the pancakes did not disappoint either, in fact they had blueberries inside them too which was a nice little surprise. I can honestly say these were probably the best pancakes I've tasted. And teamed with beautiful coffee, this brunch will set you off for the day.
I love the ethos behind the cafe - good coffee and good food. Serving water with your coffee, coming to your table to take your order. All these things make Tried & True a relaxing experience. There's a whole host of regulars, faces that I'm beginning to recognise. Tried & True has a relaxing atmosphere, and somehow manages to cater for everyone all at once.
There's often children, babies, buggies, artists, solo readers, business people having important looking chats, the sporty type grabbing a few more calories after a gym/swim session at the leisure centre, among many others I'm sure.
So I guess it's a great place for people watching.. I love to sit and watch the world go by, especially in a window seat.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, we're definitely spoilt for choice for independent coffee spots in Putney, and the surrounding area.
Today I went back to Tried & True for brunch and had this lovely Autumnal updated version of the pancakes - yum!
