Today we stumbled upon BB Bakery - just off of The Strand and very close to Covent Garden, it's one I'd walked past previously and thought how quaint it looked, but only of an evening when it was closed. Today was my chance.
This is a Parisian take on cupcakes, there's plenty more to choose from to, with plenty of gorgeous looking gateaux and slices as well as Viennoiseries (or pastries) and some savoury choices too. I was up for cake, and a cupcake took my fancy. I chose this lovely blueberry one.
The icing was incredible, it really was bursting with flavour. The cupcake was lovely and moist, quite muffin like, if that makes sense. Probably due to the fruit content (I'm sure it was raspberries in the cake, not blueberries but never mind).
The boy had a large slice of gateaux which he reports was also very tasty!
The tea was served in delicate tea cups, and the pot of tea provided me with plenty of cups!
What a perfect refreshing place to stop by for tea and cake.
The tea room itself was very relaxing. The staff served us quickly and then gave us space to enjoy the offerings. I thought the atmosphere was really nice. The decor is lovely, and downstairs there appears to be almost a private function room, which would be great for a tea party.
Anyway, for a cupcake establishment that I haven't heard much about its a really lovely one, and comes recommended.
