What a year - 2012!!

My blogging year started in May, if I have managed to link the pages correctly you can click on the picture and you will magically be taken to the original blog post. *Thank you for your patience*
This is when I started the blog. It all started off with an unsucessful research trip to the British Library, I couldn't find any dissertation related literature. But I did end up buying this book.

Once my dissertation was handed in I had time to explore a new hobby - blogging.
May also saw my Diploma day.
How can we forget the 'summer' of 2012!! The extra long bank holiday saw the real celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee commence.

Where we tasted jubilee cupcakes to fit in with Her Majesty's celebrations. I loved being a part of it, and was one of the millions lining the banks of the Thames on that soggy Sunday afternoon.

What an amazing day!
There was time to sample local cupcakes from Artisan Coffee in Putney. A firm favourite for the perfect coffee.

This years summer holiday we travelled to Dubai, where the cupcake trend is also happening.

Then of course we had the Olympics! Which I have to admit I don't think I had any Olympic themed cupcakes!! But how can we forget LONDON 2012!
Early in September I was treated to Afternoon Tea at Eric Lanlard's Cake Boy - my first proper afternoon tea, and what a treat it was!! This comes highly recommended! I also attended the Cake & Bake Show 2012.

In October friends and I went to Cox and Baloney in Bristol for afternoon tea.

November saw my university graduation.
And a visit to Ms. Cupcake an entirely vegan bakery. I'm not quite sure how cupcakes can taste so good without butter & eggs.

December is always a busy one - my birthday, Christmas and New Years eve.
And this one has been no different..
Christmas cupcakes and more..

Vanilla Black - vegetarian restaurant for a birthday meal.

Summary of 2012's best cake place in my opinion..
I would have to say my favourite cake place so far has been Peggy Porschen's in Belgravia. Closely followed by the fantastic vegan cupcake from Ms.  Cupcake in Brixton. So far the afternoon tea experience has to be and that's Cake Boy in Battersea. Very closely followed by Cox & Baloney in Bristol.

I will finish rambling now and wish you all a very

Happy New Year!!

See you on the other side.
