So this weekend was the Cake and Bake Show 2012, held at Earls Court. It proved ever so popular and was heaving with cake fanatics!
For those of you who didn't get to visit the show, I'll just tell you a little bit about it. There were lots of stalls selling all sorts of cupcake accessories and baking equipment. Now unfortunately I don't often have the time to bake myself... So I decided to purchase a book called Great Cake Places London 2012. It will help me in my quest to find more lovely cupcake establishments.
I was expecting to be stuffed with cupcakes. But I had only had one cupcake, (just one you say...) there weren't quite as many stalls selling cakes as you may think.
Did you go? What did you think of it?
Lots of freebies :-)
Here's one of the entries for The Edible Beach cake competition
- The Burj Al Arab, Dubai.
Of course there were lots of fantastic bakers both demonstrating and also wandering around the Cake & Bake show. Here's a pic especially for those Eric Lanlard fans. :) I also managed to see Paul Hollywood, Jo Wheatley, Ruth Clemens, Edd Kimber, Cathryn from this years GBBO, Annabel Karmel and Peggy Porschen.
After a tiring day of wandering we settled down with a cuppa, and contemplated the day. We had a great time, but it was rather busy and the queues for the cafes were huge. So there's a few things we thought could be improved.. and I know improvements were made for today (Sunday). All in all it was a great day out and I look forward to it being bigger and better next year!
Now I've got to enjoy the freebies, get baking and exploring London for more sweet treats.
Thanks for reading. x
